The Constitutional Court (MK) has not found evidence that Gibran Rakabuming Raka holds a high school (SLTA) or equivalent diploma, according to the court's own statement. The case over his education qualification was filed after his candidacy in the 2024 presidential election and has entered the evidentiary stage, with the court examining whether it has the authority to review the validity of a vice-presidential candidate's education qualification. Denny Indrayana has asked the court to summon Gibran to testify, but the court has not been reported to have decided on that request.123
The General Elections Commission (KPU) has explained its reason for accepting a certificate (suket) as a requirement for Gibran to register as a vice-presidential candidate. The KPU said it is committed to explaining the administration of Gibran's candidacy from archives and documents. Golkar hopes the Constitutional Court's ruling on the diploma issue will serve as an evaluation for election organizers.245
The polemic over Gibran's high school diploma, which also involves the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), has been reported to the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim). The nine Constitutional Court judges who handled the diploma lawsuit have been reported to the Constitutional Court Ethics Council (MKMK). PDIP's Deddy Sitorus has discussed the option of a House inquiry (hak angket) over the Constitutional Court's ruling related to Gibran's diploma.678
Gibran Rakabuming Raka said that if he had not graduated from high school, it would have been impossible for him to study in Singapore. The PSI party expressed regret over the Constitutional Court's handling of the diploma lawsuit, saying it already knew the challenge lacked legal standing.39
